A SENSATIONAL LOOK AT THE INSTALLATION OF AIR COMPRESSOR

INTRODUCTION

It is one thing to buy an air compressor and another thing is to install it. Proper air compressor installation is very mandatory. Air compressor is used in different places like construction industries, carpentry workshop, the home and other places thus knowing where to install it and how to install it becomes necessary. There are basically three basic things to consider when installing an air compressor. They are the mechanical, electrical and the cooling and ventilation.  It is of paramount importance to plan for the future repair and maintenance of the air compressor, the expansion of your system in order to make your system accessible when installation in on mind. Generally, all air compressors generate a good amount of heat and because of this, air compressor needs to be installed at a location where the generated hot air does not enter the room.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE INSTALLATION OF AN AIR COMPRESSOR

It is important to consider the following before an air compressor installation is done:

  • The cubic feet per minute:

This determines how much air that is generated by the air compressor. It is important to note that every pneumatic tool requires a specific level of cubic feet per minute (cfm) which must be met by the air compressor.

  • Pounds per square inch

For an air compressor to power all pneumatic tools properly, it will need a good psi—pounds per square inch. Some of these tools requires higher psi than the other. So before renting and installing an air compressor, you need to identify the tool you need the air compressor machine for. Knowledge of the air compressor pressure together with the equipment pressure you want to use it on is very important before installation.

  • Horsepower

This is an important factor to consider before renting or buying an air compressor to install. It is very vital as the psi and cfm. It determines the compressor’s motor output.

Other things to know about the air compressor you want to install are the air compressor tank volume, the duty cycle, control system, the airflow, the price of the air compressor etc.
